BNC Bank: Highlights from 2016

Out with the old, in with the new... almost.

2016 marked the 25th anniversary of BNC Bank. As 2017 commences, let’s take a moment to reflect on a few moments that made 2016 memorable.

Prestigious Rankings and Awards

In 2016, BNC was recognized by many admired organizations. These awards were reflective of BNC’s company culture to Deliver More and were a testament to the loyalty of customers, the support of shareholders and the unwavering commitment of the employees and Board of Directors. These recognitions include:

  • Fortune’s Top 100 List of Fastest Growing Companies
  • Best Employers in North Carolina by Business North Carolina
  • A+ Rating from DepositAccounts.com
  • Top 10 best performing regional banks in the United States by SNL Financial
  • Best Places to Work in South Carolina by SC Biz News
  • Best Bank Marketing Video Award from the American Bankers Association
  • Community Impact Award from Wolters Kluwer

BNC Unified Brand

In late 2016, the bank unified its name and logo under the long-standing BNC brand. This unified identity as BNC Bank showcased BNC’s flagship cardinal as one that was modern and in-flight, signifying BNC’s momentum, vision and growth.

The modernized BNC Bank logo validated the strong reputation BNC has built and emphasized a focus toward the future. The unified brand was accompanied by a newly designed website and signage throughout North Carolina.

A Deeper Footprint

Since 2010, BNC Bank has successfully completed fifteen acquisitions. Two of these acquisitions took place in 2016, deepening BNC’s presence in existing markets.

Southcoast Financial Corporation, based in the Charleston and Mount Pleasant, South Carolina markets, and High Point Bank Corporation, based in the Piedmont-Triad area of North Carolina, joined the BNC family. Customers of both banks have continued to see the same friendly, local employees they have come to know and trust, and have benefitted from increased resources brought to bear by the combined franchises. Further, in August BNC Bank opened a new branch in Monroe, North Carolina and ended the year with 76 locations throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
